Aurora
Aurora Aksnes is born June 15, 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. She is professionally known as Aurora and occasionally stylized using lowercase letters, such as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, released in May 2015 by Decca Records to great approval from music journalists and media. Half the World Away, by the Oasis band to promote John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy, by Nat King Cole are two of the most well-known covers by the artist. Katy Perry's praise for the song Runaway via a blog post gave the artist some additional recognition. Make it a special day for her. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was when she discovered a piano in her loft and being captivated by its music. Parents May-Britt as well as Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to study music, not for an occupation or pastime but to grow. Her first step was to compose lyrics of her own. She points to renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in her influences, along with an inclination to Bjork's style. Her mom encouraged her to sing her music in front of the public, but not to become famous but rather assist others in understanding how valuable they are and what they could do to improve the world. In the age of 6 she started playing the piano. At age nine, she when she began to write songs. It wasn't known to her family that she had begun until 14. Aurora did not have a set goal. The singer says that she simply likes creating songs. To her, music is the best method for expressing anything.
